O’Reilly Media and the Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC) facilitated a generous donation of 30 copies of my book “Building Wireless Sensor Networks” for the “First West African Workshop on Wireless Sensor Networks” at Accra, the University of Ghana. According to their site:
“The workshop is designed to impart skills and knowledge on applying technological approaches in wireless sensor networks through expert lectures and demonstration of case studies. The activity will enable delegates to gain knowledge on the advancements in the related fields and build an environmental wireless sensor network in their countries.“
That’s pretty awesome and something I’m proud to be even a small part of.
The International Center for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy, which I’ll be visiting for a conference in February, organized the class in collaboration with the Association of African Universities, the University of Cape Town and the University of Ghana, Legon. The class also used XBee radios in open source sensor systems from Digi’s partner Libelium.
Here’s a poster with more info about the workshop:

Amazing! So proud of you!
thank you, Rob, for all your work and for the book! thanks to the sponsors –
